1 John 5: 4 (NIV) For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.
The Christian life is a fight wherein there are a lot of obstacles to overcome. But God said that believers are overcomers. The key to winning is faith.
WHAT IS FAITH?
- Faith believes that nothing is impossible with God (Matthew 17: 20) - "I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as the mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, move from here to there and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." The size of problems nor our faith is not the issue but the connection with a big God. What are your impossible to move mountains?
- Faith believes God is able to keep all his promises (Romans 4: 20-21) - "Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised." Faith focuses on the power of God not on the hardship of the situation. Why cant he break his promise? Where can we get his promise?
- Faith believes that God is a rewarder (Hebrews 11:6) - "And without faith it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." Do we know him as rewarder or just a punisher? Have you been rewarded by God for believing?
Life Application
- What are your impossible situation that needs prayer?
- What are the promises of God that you are claiming and waiting for fulfillment?
- Have you been showing God, deeds that are worth rewarding?
