Being Free From Negative Emotions

  1. Refuse to be anxious ( mabalisa) - John 16:33 – Remember that Jesus overcame all problems. Psalm 94: 19 – God can comfort us when we spend time with him. Luke 12: 29-31- Pray for your needs. Trust God .
  2. Refuse to be ruled by anger ( magalit) - Ephesians 4:26-27 – don’t give an open access to the devil. This can lead to a shut off of God’s power in us. Proverbs 29: 22 – an angry man stirs up strife and make more serious mistakes. Ecclesiastes 7:9 – wise people thinks first before they burst in anger.
  3. Refuse to be stressed ( madaming kaabalahan) - Philippains 4: 11-13 be satisfied with God and his blessings so that there is rest in your soul. Have quiet moments with God.
  4. Refuse to be envious ( mainggit) - James 3: 16-17 – don’t compare yourself and possessions with others. 1Cor 3: 3- be not carnal.
  5. Refuse to be depressed ( malugmok) - Psalm 119: 28 – find daily strength in God’s word. Psalm 6: 8-9 – release burdens in prayer to God.
  6. Refuse to be bitter (mapait; madaming sama ng loob) - Psalm 13: 2 – wag palaging isipan ang hurts at mga taong nakasakit sa iyo. Hebrews 12: 15 – nakakasira ang poot. We have to check on it daily and choose to forgive them.
  7. Refuse to be hopeless (walang pag asa) - Proverbs 22:5 – guard our soul. Hopelessness is a slow killer of our body and soul.
